"Without a Mask" Art Therapy

Specialist of the Psychological Support Service, K.A. Sagyndykova, conducted art therapy titled "Without a Mask" for students of the Higher School of Artificial Intelligence and Construction.

"Without a Mask" Art Therapy brought students benefits not only psychologically but also in developing life, social, and creative skills.

🧠 1. Expansion of Creative Thinking

Students learned to interpret the same tasks in different ways, stepping outside the limits of conventional thinking.
This fostered the development of flexible thinking and the ability to solve problems creatively.

🔐 2. Freedom from Internal Blocks

Being "without a mask" helped students overcome shyness, self-imposed limitations, and the need to be “correct.”
This encouraged free self-expression, both in creativity and in life.

🪞 3. Understanding Symbols and Metaphors

The images and collages created during the art therapy sessions were metaphorical representations of their inner world.
Students were able to analyze these symbols and engage in deep self-reflection.

💬 4. Non-verbal Self-expression

For students who had difficulty expressing their inner feelings with words, learning to communicate through drawing, color, and form was especially effective.
This was a unique way to develop emotional intelligence.

🤲 5. Learning Acceptance and Support

Every piece of work was individual and unique. Students learned to appreciate their own work as well as the work of others, avoiding criticism.
This created an atmosphere of mutual respect and psychological safety within the group.
