The university has adopted a Zero Carbon Emissions Policy да (https://shakarim.edu.kz//upload/editor/pages/unive...). Within the framework of this policy, the area of parking lots is gradually reduced. The “Plant a Tree” campaign is carried out annually both on and off the university campus.

In the course of internal grant competitions and Start-Up projects, priority is given to projects related to sustainable development.

On a regular basis, employees and students of the university take part in the action “Plant a tree” on the basis of the State Institution “State forest nature reserve ‘Semey Ormany’. Students of the educational program Forest Resources and Hunting Science undergo industrial practice.
