Main areas of activity

The research work of students is planned and carried out during the academic year in the following main areas:

  • preparation of scientific abstracts, publication of scientific articles in collaboration with faculty;
  • execution of scientific projects, theses, and works with elements of research at the departments;
  • participation in student scientific conferences, seminars, competitions, and Olympiads;
  • membership in scientific clubs and societies.

The main task of the university in organizing students' research activities is addressed and fulfilled through differentiated involvement in various forms of creative work, taking into account their level of preparation.

University students have excellent opportunities to master their future profession and engage in research work. They have access to educational and scientific laboratories equipped with modern technology, computer labs with Internet access, and a scientific library with a collection of about one million books.

Students are regularly involved as co-performers in applied research conducted by faculty scientists. The results of students' research work are used for publishing articles, preparing graduation papers, presenting at conferences, and participating in startup project competitions.

To engage students in research activities, scientific interest clubs operate within the university's departments. Currently, there are 30 student scientific clubs and associations where students acquire research skills in their areas of specialization. Among them are: «Matrix», «Thermophysicist», «Adam Smith Club», «Leader», «Automation Engineer», «GeoConstruction», «Archaeologist and Paleographer», «Zhas Zerteushi» and others.

A powerful incentive for engaging young people in science has been the international and national conferences, scientific-practical seminars, subject Olympiads, and competitions in various fields held at the university. The winners of these events are rewarded.
