The modern approach to standardization on the part of the main subjects of this activity - government bodies and manufacturers of products and services - is determined by the fact that today standardization is a key link in the policy in the field of trade relations on a global scale, a stabilizing factor in ensuring the functioning of the socio-economic sphere of society's life, the totality instruments for increasing the competitiveness of national economies. Certification is one of the most effective forms of ensuring the quality of products or services, as well as their competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets.

Formation of knowledge about the basic principles and provisions of national and international standardization and certification in the Republic of Kazakhstan, areas of application of standardization and certification, schemes and systems of conformity confirmation, rules and procedure for confirming conformity of products and services, scientific and technical support for standardization and certification.

Carries out activities on the use in practice of the main legislative acts, national, international standards and other normative and technical documents in the field of standardization and certification.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of standardization and certification, including elements of the most advanced knowledge in this area.
  • To analyze the application in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan of international and foreign technical regulations, standards and other normative documents on standardization and certification.

Basics of standardization and certification

The development of the discipline is aimed at obtaining students the basic concepts of the national standardization system, standardization methods, the legislative framework for standardization and certification, standardization in various industries, the scope of certification, types of certification, studying the application of normative documents on standardization, the procedure for developing and approving national standards, the procedure for developing and approval of the organization's standard, the procedure for confirming the conformity of products and services, certification schemes for products and services, procedures for obtaining certificates of the country of origin. Having studied this discipline, the student will need to know: the essence and content of standardization and certification, technology for developing standards, legislative and regulatory documents, rules and procedure for confirming the conformity of products and services, the system of mandatory and voluntary certification, conformity confirmation schemes; should be able to apply in practice the rules for developing standards, apply methods of quality control of products and processes when carrying out work on confirmation of conformity; must have the skills to work with normative documentation on standardization and certification; revision of existing standards and other certification documents; should be competent in the organization of standardization activities, in the development of regulatory documentation and its application; conditions for the implementation of confirmation of conformity.

International standardization and certification

This discipline studies the main stages and prospects for the development of international standardization, the activities of international organizations dealing with standardization ISO, IEC, ILAC, etc., their goals and principles of work, the activities of regional organizations for standardization, international certification. Having studied this discipline, the student will have to know international and regional organizations for standardization and certification, the history and current state of standardization, certification in the country and abroad, the organization of standardization activities in developed countries; should be able to independently understand the area of ​​activity of each organization; will have to have the skills to work on the application of normative documents of international and regional organizations; demonstrate basic knowledge in the field of international and regional standardization and certification, the ability to apply knowledge and skills in practice.

Systems of normative documents

This discipline studies the main provisions and standards of a unified system of design and technological documentation, a unified system for technological preparation of production, a food safety management system, an occupational safety and health management system, a social responsibility system, an environmental management system, a unified system of classification and coding of technical and economic and social information. Having studied this discipline, the student will need to know the standards and regulatory and technical documentation in force in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of various systems of regulatory documentation; will have to be able to apply in practice standards and normative and technical documentation in the field of normative document systems, independently establish the category, type, validity period of a normative document, developer, requirements for the content and presentation of the document; will have to have the skills to work with regulatory documents included in the unified system of design documentation, unified system of technological documentation, food safety management system (HACCP); occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS 18001); social responsibility system SA 8000, environmental management system (ISO 14001: 2004); demonstrate basic knowledge in the field of applicable regulatory documents (regulations, standards) and the ability to apply knowledge and skills in practice.
