At the initiative of the Higher School of Natural Sciences, a regional seminar on "Features of Writing Scientific Projects by School Students in the Field of Natural Sciences" was held at the "ZhasStar" coworking center. The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, and academician Mikhail Semyonovich Panin.
Teachers from the region and high school students were invited to the seminar. Participants were introduced to the principles of selecting a research project topic, the requirements for writing a scientific project, and research methods.
Candidate of Biological Sciences and coordinator of the Research Organization Center at Shakarim University, Elena Evlampieva, shared information about the life and scientific career of Mikhail Semyonovich Panin, his academic contributions, and the scientific school he established. She emphasized that thanks to his talent and hard work, a student from an ordinary rural school was able to achieve the prestigious rank of an academician.
University lecturer and Candidate of Biological Sciences Aigul Sapakova addressed methodological aspects of organizing students' scientific projects. The head of the University's Scientific Center for Radioecological Research, Aleksei Klivenko, highlighted the advantages of preparing school research projects at the center’s facilities.
The participants also had the opportunity to hear from Alfira Sibirkinа, a former student of Mikhail Panin, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, and Director of the Institute of Professional Pedagogy at the South Ural State Humanities and Pedagogical University. She shared insights on "Elements of Ecological Education in the School Biology Curriculum", discussing how studying biology can help students understand ecological issues and solutions.
During the seminar, several critical issues related to students’ scientific projects were raised. In particular, participants discussed the common challenges young researchers face and the importance of providing them with necessary support. The discussion also covered the opportunities for using new technologies and scientific methods in student research.
The seminar served as an important event promoting the scientific and pedagogical legacy of Mikhail Panin. His contributions to science and education continue to inspire young researchers and provide guidance for future generations of scientists.
