Minor «Statistical data processing»

Scientific research in the modern world is impossible without the use of methods of statistical processing of experimental data. Therefore, the methods of mathematical statistics have found wide application in various studies, whether technical, economic, social and many others. Usually, the relationships between variables studied during a particular experiment are very complex and random. These relationships depend on many intermediate direct and reverse influences, influenced by random factors. And it is the methods of statistical data processing that allow us to identify and quantify the patterns of relationships between individual indicators that manifest themselves for a given set of measurements or objects on average. Knowledge of these methods and practical methods of statistical calculations will allow students to introduce elements of an accurate quantitative assessment of the facts that will appear in the course of their professional activity when preparing their final qualifying work and in subsequent work in the specialty.

Minor Courses

Description

  1.

Mathematical statistics

The course introduces students to the main sections of mathematical statistics: descriptive statistics, interval estimation, and statistical hypothesis testing. The student will learn how to build a probabilistic and statistical model based on the results of the experiment, put forward hypotheses and conduct their preliminary assessment

       2.

Statistical methods for processing experimental results

The course "Statistical methods of processing experimental results" introduces students to mathematical techniques, formulas, methods of quantitative calculations, with the help of which the indicators obtained during the experiment can be generalized, brought into the system, revealing the hidden patterns in them

       3.

Actuarial Mathematics

The course "Actuarial Mathematics" studies methods related to the insurance of various risks, as well as the basics of the theory of life insurance. Studying this course, the student will learn how to conduct a mathematical assessment of possible risks in various fields: business, finance, insurance, social sphere and demography; determine the amount of annual insurance reserves
