The ethnographic room at Shakarim University is a unique space dedicated to promoting national culture and spiritual heritage. It serves as an educational and cultural center where students can immerse themselves in the rich traditions of the Kazakh people and develop historical awareness.

The uniqueness of the ethnographic room

Three years ago, university students initiated the collection of a unique ethnographic exhibit, featuring traditional handicrafts from Kazakhs in China and Mongolia, as well as household items and traditional clothing from various regions of East Kazakhstan. A yurt was set up inside the university building, which has since become a cultural hub and a favorite gathering place for students.

National culture in the hearts of the younger generation

In the ethnographic room, students can play the dombra, wear traditional Kazakh clothing, explore Kazakh handicrafts, and sit on felt rugs, patchwork blankets, and traditional textiles, absorbing the heritage of their ancestors. This initiative is not only about studying Kazakh traditions but also about integrating them into everyday life.

Support from the rector

Recently, the rector of Shakarim University, Duman Rymgaliuly, visited the ethnographic room and emphasized its importance in promoting national values. He also expressed support for organizing an exhibition.
