Scientific Center "Abai and national spirituality"

The scientific Center “Abai and national spirituality” is a structural unit of the university engaged in conducting fundamental scientific research.

Key Areas of Activity:

• Scientific Research

- scholarly study of the heritage of Abai, Shakarim, M. Auezov, and the ideas of the Alash movement within the context of national spirituality, as well as their promotion using modern technologies;

- conducting textological research on the works of Abai and Shakarim and contributing to the preparation of their academic editions with scholarly commentaries;

- planning and organizing scientific and cultural-artistic events (academic conferences, lectures, methodological seminars, master classes, literary evenings, exhibitions);

- participation in grant-funded projects announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

• Educational Process

- strengthening the Center as a permanent scientific and practical base for the research, creative, and practical activities of undergraduate and graduate students of the “Kazakh Language and Literature” educational program;

- integration of the courses “The World of Abai” and “Abai Studies” into the educational process in order to enhance the historical and cultural awareness of school pupils and university students and to foster their spiritual consciousness.

• Youth Science

- systematic operation of the student study group “Abai Club” aimed at supporting learners engaged in creative and research activities.

• Collaboration

- conducting joint scientific research and participating in joint grant projects with the Institute of Literature and Art named after M. Auezov, the Research Institute “Abai Academy” of L. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the State Historical, Cultural, and Literary Memorial Museum-Reserve “Zhidebay-Börili”, the National Scientific and Practical Center “Til Qazyna”, and the Abai Regional Universal Library.

• Methodological Support

- methodological support for teaching the subjects of Abai Studies and Shakarim Studies in general secondary education schools;

- providing advisory and methodological assistance to university students and young researchers on issues related to scientific work.

• Publications

• conducting research and publishing scholarly works in the fields of Abai Studies, Shakarim Studies, Auezov Studies, and regional literary history;

• development of the university’s intellectual products.

Our Mission

To study, promote, and integrate into the educational process the literary heritage of Abai, Shakarim, and representatives of the Alash intelligentsia, as well as to carry out scientific research and academic outreach activities aimed at revitalizing national spirituality and fulfilling the Center’s social mission.
