"FROM THE HEART – GIFT A BOOK"

February 14 is International Book Giving Day. On this day, people give books to each other as a sign of respect and appreciation.

As Abai once said: "Extra knowledge is in books, don’t be lazy to read." Books are a timeless treasure that never lose their value. They teach critical thinking, encourage curiosity, broaden one's worldview, enrich vocabulary, and promote human values.

Although books have a long history, International Book Giving Day was officially established only on February 14, 2012. The main purpose of this day is to instill a love for reading, encourage children and adults to appreciate books, and highlight that books are the most valuable gift.

As part of International Book Giving Day, the libraries of Shakarim University organized the "From the Heart – Gift a Book" campaign.

The first to join the initiative were the teams from the School of Research in Physics and Chemistry, the School of Research in Food Engineering, the Higher School of Artificial Intelligence and Construction, the Higher School of Natural Sciences, and the Higher School of Philology. They generously contributed valuable books to enrich the university's library collection.
