An online meeting was held at Shakarim University, organized by the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, with representatives of Michigan State University and Kazakhstan universities.
Shakarim University was selected as one of the four universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in the program "American Centers of Academic Writing". This program is unique throughout the Central Asian region. The program is implemented with the support of the Department of Press, Culture and Education of the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Kazakhstan.
The main purpose of the program is to provide training and advisory support for our scientists and students on the publication of scientific papers in English in international peer-reviewed journals. Colleagues from Michigan State University will share their experience and technical knowledge with our teachers.
One of the additional advantages for Shakarim University is that a specialist in academic English from the USA will arrive at the university for a whole year.
The implementation of the program is planned for 2025. At the end of the program, a fully functional academic writing center is planned at our university, which has no analogues in all of Central Asia.
