GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT SERVICE

Goals:

  1. Ensuring the psychological well-being of students, faculty, and university staff.

  2. Supporting successful adaptation to the educational environment and academic workload.

  3. Preventing emotional, stress-related, and crisis conditions.

  4. Creating conditions for personal growth, professional self-determination, and the harmonious development of students.

Objectives:

  • Providing individual and group psychological counseling.

  • Conducting psychodiagnostics of anxiety levels, stress resilience, motivation, and the social climate.

  • Organizing preventive activities, trainings, and seminars.

  • Offering crisis and emergency psychological assistance.

  • Supporting first-year and international students during their adaptation period.

  • Developing methodological materials, development and support programs.

  • Informing students about ways to maintain mental health.

  • Cooperating with departments, deans’ offices, and the administration on issues of psychological and pedagogical support.

MAIN AREAS OF ACTIVITY OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT SERVICE

\Counseling Services

  • Individual psychological counseling for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Consultations on adaptation, interpersonal relationships, and career/self-determination.

  • Support during stressful situations, emotional difficulties, and personal crises.

Diagnostic Work

  • Psychological assessment of stress, anxiety, emotional state, and personality features.

  • Study of the socio-psychological climate in student groups.

  • Identification of at-risk groups (adaptation difficulties, low motivation, etc.).

Preventive Activities

  • Prevention of emotional distress and burnout among students and staff.

  • Prevention of deviant behavior, conflicts, and destructive interaction patterns.

  • Promotion of healthy lifestyle and positive communication culture.

Correctional and Developmental Work

  • Trainings on communication, stress management, time management, and public speaking.

  • Support in exam preparation and professional orientation.

  • Development of individual correctional and developmental programs.

Adaptation Support

  • Assistance for first-year students during their transition to university life.

  • Support for international students and intercultural adaptation.

  • Organization of adaptation programs and team-building activities.

Crisis and Emergency Support

  • Immediate psychological assistance in cases of acute stress, trauma, or emotional breakdowns.

  • Collaboration with university administration in emergency situations.

  • Distribution of materials on stress prevention and mental health support.
