Shakarim University is a modern educational, scientific, and cultural center of the northeastern region of Kazakhstan.

Shakarim University has a highly qualified faculty and staff consisting of 760 employees, including 78 Doctors of Science and professors, 135 Candidates of Science and associate professors, and 161 holders of master's degrees.

Shakarim University is home to 70 scholars who have been awarded the national "Best University Teacher" grant.

Shakarim University offers a strong educational framework and a well-developed material and technical infrastructure: 12 academic buildings, modern educational and research laboratories and workshops, a scientific library with a collection of more than 700,000 volumes, a media library and reading room, a computer park (over 1,300 computers), a swimming pool and two fitness halls, two sports complexes with fully equipped football fields, an additional sports hall, a medical center with diagnostic and preventive equipment, a Student House, and apartment-style dormitories.

The university collaborates with higher education institutions in the USA, China, Mongolia, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Japan, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and the Baltic states, and is a member of several reputable international organizations.
