AI-SANA: A NEW STEP IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPMENT

The Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dinara Shcheglova, visited the Huawei ICT laboratory at Shakarim University, where she familiarized herself with the ongoing digitalization initiatives and the planned projects under the AI-Sana program.

She also delivered an open lecture for students at the ZhasStar coworking center.

During the lecture on the AI-Sana innovation program—designed to create favorable conditions for training qualified personnel and advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies—Dinara Rinatovna emphasized that this initiative is not only a tool for shaping new thinking among students and educators but also a significant step for Kazakhstani universities to transition from traditional education methods to a research-oriented approach.

AI-Sana is a unique program aimed at the comprehensive development of artificial intelligence skills among students. It will engage 100,000 participants and is designed to enhance the potential of the national economy while supporting technological entrepreneurship.

The AI-Sana program integrates educational, research, and applied approaches:

  • Developing fundamental knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence.
  • Training highly qualified specialists to implement AI technologies in various economic sectors.
  • Establishing a sustainable ecosystem at universities and research institutes to foster DeepTech startups.

This initiative will enable universities in Kazakhstan to shift from traditional education to scientific research, driving the adoption of new teaching and research methodologies.
