Today, an extended meeting of the Academic Council of Shakarim University was held, during which current issues related to the development of the institution were thoroughly discussed. The key topics included the enhancement of research activities, improving the quality of education, and expanding international cooperation. As a result of the meeting, important decisions were adopted to guide the university’s strategic development.

In his report, Erasyl Dulatbay, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation, presented the development plan for internationalization and innovation activities for the 2025–2026 academic year. He spoke in detail about the work carried out in the new workshops and modern laboratories of the Shakarim Lab research center. In addition, he highlighted progress in commercialization and investment attraction, the successful adaptation of drought-resistant potato varieties at the Agrobiology Laboratory, as well as achievements in strengthening international partnerships. At the same time, the existing shortcomings and areas requiring further improvement were openly addressed. Special emphasis was placed on the need to take concrete measures to eliminate the identified issues and further enhance the university’s scientific potential.

Askar Kasymov, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Social Development, analyzed the results of the university’s participation in national and international rankings, outlining key tasks for strengthening the institution’s position. According to him, improving the university’s prestige depends on high-quality education, increased effectiveness of scientific research, and the exchange of international experience. In this regard, special attention will be given to enhancing the professional level of the teaching staff, increasing the number of scientific publications, and expanding student participation in research activities.

The meeting of the Academic Council also reviewed strategic steps aimed at the university’s future development. Council members discussed supporting young researchers, creating conditions for their professional growth, and improving the qualifications of scientific personnel. It was particularly emphasized that involving students in research activities is of paramount importance, as it forms the foundation of the university’s future scientific potential.

The decisions adopted during the meeting provided clear direction for the university’s continued development. The implementation of innovative projects, the deepening of international scientific ties, and the involvement of students and young researchers in scientific work are all intended to enhance the university’s competitiveness and strengthen its position in the global educational landscape. Council members actively shared their proposals and opinions, contributing to the search for effective solutions to each issue discussed.

One of the significant moments of the meeting was the awarding of certificates for the conferment of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree and the title of Associate Professor to several distinguished faculty members.

Kapan Oralgazyuly Shakerkhan – Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program 8D06110 “Computer Science.”

Araily Alenkhanovna Zakiyeva – Associate Professor in the scientific field “Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.”

Dinara Oshanovna Kozhakhmetova – Associate Professor in the scientific field “Multidisciplinary Engineering.”

Roza Serikzhanovna Bekbayeva – Associate Professor in the scientific field “Multidisciplinary Engineering.”

These achievements reflect the growth of the university’s scientific and pedagogical potential and its success in training highly qualified specialists. Undoubtedly, the newly recognized scholars and professors will contribute to transferring knowledge and experience to the younger generation, as well as advancing scientific research to a new level.

The meeting concluded with the Academic Council defining specific directions for future work. The university community was wished continued success, along with a call for unity and active engagement in achieving the set goals in science and education.
