The field research expedition under the program "Comprehensive analysis of the natural, historical, and cultural landscape potential of Alakol and the development of effective mechanisms for recreational tourism" is continuing.

During the field research, scientists held a joint scientific and expert meeting in the Makanchi district on the natural, historical, cultural, and tourism potential of the Alakol basin. The expedition collected ancient writings and historical data related to the nature and geographical features of the Alakol region. Furthermore, ancient legends concerning the balneological and peloid resource system of Barlyk-Arasan were also noted.

Scientists conducted observations on the current state of recreational resources in the eastern part of the Alakol basin and took samples of mineral waters and therapeutic muds from the Alakol area. Scholars from Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov also actively participated in the field research.

It is expected that the field research under the program will continue during the tourist season, which will allow for the full realization of the Alakol region's tourism potential.
