Strengthening Cooperation with Indonesia

A delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Republic of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Shakarim University to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture.

The delegation was headed by:

Mohamad Fadjrul Rachman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan,

Junis Duana Sirait, Coordinator for Information, Social and Cultural Affairs,

and officers of the same department, Agung Saputra and Gulnur Seisenkulova.

Representing the university leadership, Erasyl Dulatbai, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation, and Janar Kalibekkyzy, Vice-Rector for Science, welcomed the guests and presented the university’s history, development priorities, and the activities of its research centers and laboratories. They emphasized that Shakarim University conducts its educational process in line with modern international standards and places great importance on expanding global cooperation.

In her remarks, Vice-Rector Janar Kalibekkyzy highlighted that Shakarim University trains specialists for the National Nuclear Center and implements scientific projects focused on studying the ecological consequences of the Semey Nuclear Test Site. Ambassador Mohamad Fadjrul Rachman expressed particular interest in nuclear physics education and stated that the main purpose of the visit was to establish academic partnerships between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides discussed faculty and student exchange programs, the establishment of cultural and scientific collaborations, and the development of joint research projects. The participants expressed mutual interest in implementing future initiatives and strengthening academic ties.

The distinguished guests also toured the university dormitories, where they observed the students’ living conditions and facilities for study and recreation. They praised the university’s commitment to student welfare and noted that such a supportive environment contributes positively to academic performance and student well-being.

This meeting marked an important step in enhancing Shakarim University’s international cooperation. The partnership between Kazakhstan and Indonesia opens new opportunities for educational and scientific exchange, cultural collaboration, and the deepening of friendly relations between the two nations.

It is worth noting that Shakarim University had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo (Indonesia). The agreement covers cooperation in education, scientific research, personnel training, professional development, academic mobility, and internship programs for faculty members and students.
