Shakarim University Among the World’s Best Universities!

In Almaty, at the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, a certificate awarding ceremony for the QS World University Rankings 2026 took place with the participation of Jason Newman, Chief Commercial Officer of QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The prestigious event brought together rectors of Kazakhstan’s leading universities and representatives of the international ranking agency. Rector of Shakarim University, Dr. Duman Orynbekov, was also invited and officially received the certificate confirming the university’s achievement.

As a reminder, on June 19, 2025, Shakarim University was officially included in one of the most prestigious and influential global rankings – the QS World University Rankings 2026.

This year, 8,467 universities from 106 countries participated in the ranking, with only 1,501 institutions making it into the final list. Among them were 20 universities from Kazakhstan, and Shakarim University was one of three newly ranked Kazakhstani institutions, earning a place in the top 18% of the world’s best universities.

Shakarim University was ranked in the 1401+ category on this prestigious international list – a significant step toward global academic recognition.

This result reflects the university’s strong performance in academic quality, international reputation, research activity, employer recognition, and notable progress in sustainability and internationalization.

The university’s leadership emphasized that this achievement was made possible thanks to the collective efforts of the entire team, the faculty, and partner organizations.
