SHAKARIM UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED THE DAY OF CULTURE AND NATIONAL TRADITIONS

Culture and Traditions Day is dedicated to promoting culture, art, and national customs. In this regard, within the framework of the "Nauryznama" ten-day festival, the Faculty of Humanities and Economics of Shakarim University celebrated this special occasion.

The main goal is to popularize the worldview of our people, their customs, traditions, rituals, and beliefs — the spiritual essence of the nation, the foundation of its language, the golden thread of our native culture, and the core of national identity.

The Kazakh people are known for their rich and noble traditions. Each custom carries deep philosophical meaning and moral values. The faculty’s professors and students took turns presenting samples of traditional customs to the audience.

During the festive event, performances included Tusau keser (cutting the child’s first steps tether), Tokymkagar (farewell ceremony for travelers), Uyky ashar, Selt etkízer (traditional spring rituals), Kyz uzatu (bride’s farewell), Beskike böleu (cradling ceremony), Balany kyrkynan shygaru (postnatal ritual), as well as a showcase of Aitys, the improvisational art of poetic contest, which is a cornerstone of Kazakh culture.

Throughout the evening, the faculty’s dombra ensemble performed, accompanied by dances and songs.

Participants analyzed and presented the origins, meanings, and contemporary interpretations of these customs, reviving and enriching our cultural heritage. Indeed, the true value of the Kazakh people lies in their traditions.
