Water Resources and IT: New Partnership Directions of Shakarim University

Today, Shakarim University signed two important cooperation memorandums.

An agreement was concluded with TIIAME — the “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research University — on collaboration within the master’s degree program in Water Resources.

The partnership with TIIAME, a leading Uzbek institution in engineering, agriculture, and environmental sciences with more than a century of academic heritage, opens new opportunities for experience exchange, modernization of educational content, and advancement of joint scientific projects in training highly qualified specialists in water resources management, agroengineering, sustainable land use, and engineering technologies.

This cooperation is an important step aimed at expanding opportunities for students and fostering highly skilled professionals in the water sector.

Another significant and encouraging development for our university is the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT).

This agreement marks a major step toward developing the digital educational environment, conducting innovative research, and strengthening international academic collaboration. The partnership between the two universities aims to elevate IT education and science to a new level in Central Asia.

Within the framework of the memorandum, several areas will be implemented, including the development of modern digital educational programs, joint research projects in IT, academic exchange of students and faculty.

These agreements represent one of the key outcomes achieved during the QS Eurasia Forum 2025, held in Tashkent with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Forum serves as a reputable platform defining the development trajectory of higher education in Eurasia, discussing new strategic approaches and academic cooperation. University delegations and QS experts address issues related to new science management models, digital transformation of higher education, expansion of international partnerships, and enhancement of quality standards.
