International Cooperation in Water Resources Management
Today, Shakarim University and TIIAME – the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” – signed a cooperation agreement for the master’s degree program in “Water Resources.”
Partnership with TIIAME, Uzbekistan’s leading institution in engineering, agriculture, and environmental sciences with more than a hundred years of academic heritage, opens new opportunities to modernize educational content, strengthen the exchange of experience in training highly qualified specialists in water resources management, agroengineering, sustainable land-use systems, and engineering technologies, as well as to advance joint scientific projects.
This agreement can be regarded as a strategic partnership that strengthens the bridge of friendship between the two countries and elevates the training of professionals in water resources management across Central Asia to a new level.
Within the framework of the agreement, the following activities are planned:
• joint research projects;
• faculty exchange programs;
• student academic mobility;
• introduction of innovative approaches to water resources management, etc.
This cooperation became one of the significant anticipated outcomes of the QS Eurasia Forum 2025, held in Tashkent with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The forum is considered a prestigious platform that defines the development trajectory of higher education in Eurasia and discusses new strategic directions and academic partnerships. University delegations and QS experts address topics such as new models of science governance, digital transformation of higher education, expansion of international cooperation, and improvement of quality standards.
